Jessica & George

Congratulations Jessica and George on their marriage! Jessica and George were married on Saturday evening, September 25, 2010 in a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina. For the prelude, I performed a variety of popular and classical selections, including At Last by Gordon/Warren, Can't Help Falling in Love by Weiss/Peretti/Creatore, and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by Bach. For the processional, I performed First Arabesque by Debussy for the seating of the grandmothers, The Nightingale by Henson-Conant for the seating of the mothers, Canon in D for the entrance of the bridal party, and Bridal March by Wagner for the entrance of the bride. For the recessional, I performed Wedding March by Mendelssohn. I had so much fun performing at this gorgeous wedding ceremony on such a lovely evening! Congratulations again to this beautiful couple on their gorgeous September wedding and enjoy your honeymoon in Mexico!

Fall Festival

On Friday, September 24, 2010, I performed at Jones Elementary School's annual Fall Festival in Greensboro. I performed at this event last year, and was so excited to be able to participate again in this fun event! This year the Fall Festival featured bounce houses, face-painting, dress-up photo booths, karaoke, and more. Inside, I had my harp set up to perform, as well as offer students an opportunity to play the harp. I helped them pluck out simple melodies, such as "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and play glissandos (where you run your fingers up and down the harp to create a beautiful angelic effect). I even had Guilford the Greensboro Grasshoppers mascot come over and try playing the harp! I have included a picture of him in this post, so that you can imagine for yourself how he looked behind the harp! Hilarious!!! I had so much fun performing at this exciting event! Thank you Susan for inviting me to participate again in this special event celebrating the beginning of the Fall season!

Introducing the NC Harp Ensemble!

I am proud to serve as the volunteer ensemble manager for the North Carolina Harp Ensemble's inaugural season! The NC Harp Ensemble is directed by Jacquelyn Bartlett, who serves as professor of harp at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Appalachian State University. The mission of the NC Harp Ensemble is to provide professional harp ensemble instruction to student harpists throughout NC, allowing them to benefit from participating and performing with an ensemble, which is an essential component to any musician's training.

The NC Harp Ensemble has several public performances scheduled this season, so please join us for these exciting performances and experience the beautiful music of multiple harps! Also, check out our blog and Facebook page! All of our performances are open to the public.
